Press Release: PSC SETS HEARING SCHEDULE IN KANSAS CITY POWER & LIGHT RATE CASE

                JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Public Service Commission has announced the formal evidentiary hearing schedule in an electric rate case filed by Kansas City Power & Light Company.

            Formal evidentiary hearings will be held June 15-19, 2015 and June 29-July 2, 2015, in Room 310 of the Governor Office Building, 200 Madison Street, Jefferson City.  These hearings will be held in a building that meets the accessibility standards required by the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Any person requiring additional accommodations to participate in these hearings should call the Public Service Commission’s hotline at 1-800-392-4211 (voice) or Relay Missouri at 711 before the hearings.

            The Commission will be holding local public hearings in this rate case.  An order announcing that schedule will be made when dates, times and locations are finalized.

On October 30, 2014, Kansas City Power & Light Company filed an electric rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to increase annual electric revenues by approximately $120.9 million.  According to the company, a typical residential customer would see an increase of approximately $14 a month under the rate request.

Kansas City Power & Light serves approximately 270,000 electric customers in the Missouri counties of Carroll, Cass, Chariton, Clay, Howard, Jackson, Johnson, Lafayette, Livingston, Pettis, Platte, Randolph and Saline.
