PRESS RELEASE: DED releases quarterly jobs report

Jefferson City, Mo. – Missouri’s unemployment rate dropped by three-tenths of a point to 5.6 percent in November, the lowest since May 2008, according to seasonally adjusted data released today by the Missouri Department of Economic Development. 

Last month, the state also added 4,500 jobs to its non-farm payroll employment.

Many industries experienced growth in November, including manufacturing with 3,000 new jobs; professional and business services with 2,300 new jobs added; and transportation, warehousing and utilities gained 1,500 new jobs.

Missouri’s non-farm payrolls increased by 42,200 jobs during the past year.
