Denny Hoskins Announces Campaign for State Senate

A trusted CPA to rein in government spending.

(WARRENSBURG) —Rep. Denny Hoskins (R- Warrensburg) has announced his intention to file for the state senate seat currently held by Sen. David Pearce. Hoskins serves as a state representative in Johnson and Pettis Counties.  In addition, Hoskins serves as the Speaker Pro tem of the Missouri House.

Hoskins hopes to replace a term-limited Sen. David Pearce (R-Warrensburg) in 2016. The district includes Caldwell, Carroll, Howard, Johnson, Lafayette, Livingston, Ray, and Saline Counties.

“The legislature needs a Certified Public Accountant (CPA),” said Speaker Pro Tem Hoskins. “Taxpayers want government to live within its means just like we do in rural Missouri. I will fight for measures to protect and promote small businesses and work toward continuing to grow Missouri’s vibrant agriculture economy.”

“I have a long history of fighting for Missouri’s taxpayers, protecting the unborn and the rights of gun owners,” said Hoskins. “My conservative voting record reflects the morals and values in rural Missouri and look forward to sharing my experience and vision for the state with voters.”

Hoskins is the only CPA in the General Assembly and a graduate of University of Central Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.  Hoskins is a Manager at Wilson, Toellner & Associates LLC, located in Marshall and Warrensburg, where he specializes in financial planning and governmental audits.

“It is very important to see a limited government work on a responsible budget just like any Missouri family,” said Hoskins. “I hope to continue to utilize my knowledge and experience as a CPA to keep Missouri’s books in order.”

Hoskins has also worked tirelessly on veteran’s issues and has been awarded the 2014 Legislator of the Year by the Missouri American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Missouri Association of Veterans’ Organizations. Hoskins is a veteran of the Missouri Army National Guard and serves on the Missouri Veteran’s Commission.

“I have a deep appreciation and respect for the sacrifice our military and veterans have made,” said Hoskins. “I support legislation that increases opportunities available to all the men and women who serve our country.”

Hoskins currently lives in Warrensburg and is the father to two children, Cole and Amelia.
