PSC SETS INTERVENTION DEADLINE IN LIBERTY UTILITIES REQUEST TO ADJUST INFRASTRUCTURE SURCHARGE

JEFFERSON CITY—Liberty Utilities (Midstates Natural Gas) Corp. d/b/a Liberty Utilities (Liberty) has filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to change the Infrastructure System Replacement Surcharge (ISRS) on the bills of its natural gas customers.  The surcharge first appeared on customer bills in November 2008.

According to the application, Liberty seeks the adjustment to reflect infrastructure replacement investments made by the natural gas company from April 1, 2014 through May 31, 2015.  These costs for natural gas pipeline replacements and relocations are not currently included in Liberty’s rates.

The current monthly ISRS for residential customers of Liberty is $0.00 a month.  The current ISRS was set to zero when the PSC decided Liberty’s last general rate case in December 2014.

The proposed monthly ISRS for a residential customer in each of Liberty’s three service areas appears below.

NEMO                                                                                                $0.96
