Ameren, KCP&L hearings to begin next week

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) met for their regularly scheduled agenda meeting today to approve three stipulations relating to Kansas City Power & Light (KCP&L) and one relating to Empire Electric Company.
The stipulations for KCP&L include an order approving the stipulation and agreement regarding true up, depreciation, and other issues; order approving stipulation and agreement regarding pensions and other post-employment benefits; and an order approving stipulation and agreement. The orders are all relating to ER20140370, a matter of KCP&L’s request for authority to implement a general rate increase for electric service.
ER-2014-0370 will have a hearing on Monday regarding the true-up at 11:30 a.m. in Room 305 of the Governor’s Office Building. The meeting time was moved to accommodate a second evidentiary hearing which will take place Monday in Room 310 regarding Ameren Missouri’s second filing to implement regulatory changes in furtherance of energy efficiency as allowed by Missouri Energy Efficiency Investment Act (MEEIA). The Ameren hearings are expected to last three days and will start at 8:30 a.m. Due to the rescheduling, commissioners will be able to hear all opening statements regarding both cases.
Commissioner Daniel Hall made it known that he would like to file an occurring opinion on the rate case “expense issue” of the Empire Electric rate case.
