McClintic Announces Fundraising Totals for State Representative Campaign

Retired teacher raises more than incumbent Basye

(Columbia, MO) – Retired teacher Susan McClintic announced her campaign for Missouri’s 47th State Representative district will report raising $19,960 in the third quarter of the 2016 campaign cycle with $17,297.76 on hand. This is Susan McClintic’s first campaign finance report since announcing her candidacy for State Representative. Incumbent Representative Chuck Basye’s report showed he raised $10,820 in the 3rd quarter and has $13,218.14 on hand.

“As a teacher I had the best job in the world – sparking children’s curiosity and setting students off to a brighter future,” said McClintic. “But for too long I have also seen the families of my students struggling just to make ends meet, let alone get ahead. It is time our lawmakers start valuing our families and focus on essentials like education. I’m honored to receive the support of so many in the Mid-Missouri community, and will continue to work hard so our families have a voice in Jefferson City.”

Voters for Susan McClintic reported 159 contributions – over 90% of those contributions came from individuals or local businesses. McClintic is currently the only Democrat for the 47th State Representative District.

In addition to her 28 years as a teacher in Columbia Public Schools Susan is active in the Mid-Missouri community. Susan has served multiple terms on the Susan G. Komen Board raising funds and awareness to fight cancer.  Elected as president of “Friends of Rocheport” working to improve tourism by preserve our local communities history and architecture. Columbia Public School teachers elected Susan as president of the Columbia National Education Association. Susan’s leadership and advocacy led to educators across Missouri electing her to serve as their voice on the board of the Public School Retirement System (PSRS).
