Lt. Governor Kinder’s Statement on Missouri’s Workforce Depletion in September

Jefferson City – Lt. Governor Kinder issued the following statement regarding the Department of Labor’s September Jobs Report.

“The U.S. Department of Labor released its latest jobs report yesterday and once again Missouri is topping all the wrong lists. We are now leading the nation in the number of people leaving our workforce. Missouri experienced a 16,500 decrease in employment during September alone. That is deplorable and unacceptable.

“The liberal job killing policies of the Obama/Nixon Administration are destroying Missouri’s economy and demoralizing our workforce. We cannot tolerate another month like September, where our crime rates increase and our jobs decrease. These disastrous statistics underscore the need for conservative economic policies like Right to Work. Passing Right to work in Missouri will grow our economy, increase our workforce and bring new businesses to our state.

“Governor Nixon and Attorney General Koster must be called out for their lack of leadership on these issues. I will continue to do so and fight for reforms that will put Missouri back on the right track to a prosperous economy where all its residents feel safe.”
