Pierson For Missouri Lt. Governor Campaign Kickoff December 9 in St. Louis

State Representative Announces Candidacy With Wide Coalition of Support From Elected Officials


Tommie Pierson has spent a lifetime bringing unity to his community.

 

“As the son of a sharecropper, a 32-year member of the United Auto Workers and the pastor of a church in Ferguson, I have a unique perspective on the issues Missourians face,” said Pierson. “We need to build a better future for all Missourians by understanding each other and building bridges across communities.”

 

Pierson officially launches his campaign kickoff on Wednesday, Dec. 9 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Communications Workers of America, 2258 Grissom Dr., St. Louis, MO 63146.

If elected, Pierson will be the first African American voted into statewide office.

 

To date, more than 30 elected officials, various labor organizations and a diverse assortment of clergy have endorsed Pierson. Supporters include the Missouri AFL-CIO, St. Louis Building and Construction Trades Council, U.S. Rep. Lacy Clay, St. Louis City Treasurer Tishaura Jones, Missouri House Minority Leader Jake Hummel, Missouri senators KiKi Curls, Scott Sifton and Gina Walsh, and clergy members Rabbi Susan Talve, Pastor Traci Blackmon and Bishop Lawrence Wooten.  (For the most updated list, visit www.piersonformissouri.com/endorsements)
