America Rising: Where Does This Year’s Version Of Koster Stand?

All: In 2006, State Senator Chris Koster voted to pass a Voter ID law in Missouri. Then in 2014, he changed his tune and praised Democrats for blocking a Voter ID measure. Where does Koster stand today? Nobody knows because he won’t say. See below for the latest:

This week in Missouri, legislation was proposed requiring citizens to provide a valid photo ID in order to vote. According to Republican Senator Will Kraus “16 people have pled guilty or been convicted of voter fraud in Missouri in the last ten years.”

Democrat Attorney General and candidate for governor Chris Koster has yet to provide Missourians with any significant perspective on the relevant Voter ID measure, leaving voters and citizens to ponder where he stands on the matter.

Despite Koster’s current silence, in 2006 then-state senator Chris Koster blocked a Democratic filibuster on a Voter ID law and then voted to pass that same measure. Then, in 2014, Koster changed his tune on the issue and personally “lauded Democrats” who blocked a Voter ID measure that he described as “ugly.”

It’s anyone’s guess where this year’s version of Chris Koster will stand on Voter ID. But if the past is any indication of the future, Missouri could be in for a bumpy ride.
