Alison Dreith Named Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri

St. Louis, MO, January 7, 2016 – NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri (NPCM), a state affiliate of NARAL Pro-Choice America, announced that Alison Dreith has been named executive director. Ms. Dreith, whose background includes statewide organizing and lobbying work, joined NPCM in August, 2015, as interim director and has already implemented innovative measures to ensure stability and enable growth of the organization. Ms. Dreith who previously worked with Planned Parenthood, the Missouri Progressive Vote Coalition and several political candidates, is committed to promoting NPCM’s mission to use the political process to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing legal and safe abortion.

The Board’s announcement of Dreith’s position comes as the Missouri legislature begins its 2016 legislative session with nine bills already pre-filed that would limit women’s reproductive rights. Dreith’s success as a statewide and grassroots organizer, lobbyist and campaign strategist, will be instrumental in her role as NARAL’s executive director, as Missouri’s political landscape continue to be shaped by efforts to restrict women’s rights. Through her relationships with statewide organizations, coalition leaders, union members, activists, journalists, and politicians, Ms. Dreith has been proactive in giving a voice to Missourians’ rights to comprehensive reproductive healthcare and justice.

“Alison Dreith drives progressive strategies for mobilizing supporters and activists across Missouri to engage the pro-choice political process,” said The Hon. Jane Bogetto,

President of NPCM Board of Directors. “NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri and the people of this state are fortunate to have her leading this organization.” An event formally announcing Ms. Dreith’s appointment will be held at 6 p.m. January 25 at Café Napoli in St. Louis.
