JOPLIN, Mo. – Rep. Bill Lant, R-Pineville, was in a serious car accident and has been placed in the intensive care unit at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin on Monday, where the outlook has been stated to be “optimistic.”
Lant is chairman of the Joint Committee on Child Abuse and Neglect and the House Committee on Workforce Standards and Developments. He also serves on the Emerging Issues; Joint Committee on Transportation Oversight; Property, Casualty, and Life Insurance; Select Committee on Labor and Industrial Relations; and Transportation Committees.
Lant owned and operated Lant’s Feed & Farm Supply, and worked as a salesman and account executive for ABF Freight Systems before his election to the House in 2010. He is unopposed as he seeks his fourth term.
Lant is currently expected to make a full recovery.
