Local Women’s Political Caucus Leader Lauds Clinton’s Nomination

From National Women’s Political Caucus:

“Hillary Clinton brings the important change of a fresh perspective and new skill sets to shake up the good ole’ boy networks that have resulted in the gridlock so pervasive in Washington, D.C,” says Rep. Margo McNeil, President of the National Women’s Political Caucus of Metro St. Louis. “Secretary Clinton is the most qualified candidate to seek the Presidency of the United States in decades. Her service in Congress and relationships with world leaders will be an asset in promoting positive change in this country and around the world.”

Hillary Clinton is the first woman chosen by a major political party as its presidential nominee. McNeil said, “This historic event has been 240 years coming and has been a major goal of the Women’s Political Caucus since its founding in 1971.”

McNeil represents House District 69 in the Missouri legislature and is a Clinton delegate at the National Democratic Convention in Philadelphia. “Caucus members know this is a huge step forward for women’s equality,” she said. “I am proud to cast my vote for Hillary Clinton and do so on behalf of all the women and girls of this nation. I cast this vote particularly for my daughter and for my four young granddaughters.”

Members of NWPC-STL will gather at the Pat Connolly Tavern at 6400 Oakland Ave. in St. Louis Thursday night to watch televised Clinton’s acceptance speech.

The National Women’s Political Caucus is a multi-partisan, multicultural, grassroots organization.  Its purpose is to increase women’s participation in the political process and to identify, recruit, train and support progressive women for elected and appointed office.
