STL COUNTY NAACP TO HOST DIVERSITY CAREER FAIR THURSDAY OCT. 20

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The St. Louis County NAACP will host a free-of-cost Diversity Career Fair at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 at the St. Louis Airport Hilton Hotel as a part of the Missouri NAACP’s State Convention.

Employers that are currently hiring in fields such as education, health care, sales, government, finance, law enforcement and many more will be in attendance to interview individuals and accept applications. Some employers will even hire on site. More than 300 positions are available.

Those interested in attending are encouraged to dress business casual and bring several copies of their resume to distribute to employers. A session will be held early on in the fair to provide tips on how one can market itself as an applicant, and how to be successful in job interviews. The event, which is open to the public, will run for approximately three hours.

“We are pleased to offer a brief seminar on How to Ace an Interview, tips to be provided by a human resource expert that can put our attendees in a successful position to obtain a job that is rewarding and gainful,” St. Louis County NAACP President Esther Haywood said. “The NAACP St. Louis County Branch is proud to empower the community economically with an opportunity to interact with employers that are eager to hire individuals from our communities. Diversity is more than just words on a corporation’s website, it’s a commitment to hire a diverse workforce that reflects our community.”
