Release: PSC SETS INTERVENTION DEADLINE IN GREAT PLAINS ENERGY INC. VARIANCE CASE

 

JEFFERSON CITY—Great Plains Energy Incorporated (GPE), Kansas City Power & Light Company (KCP&L) and KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company (GMO) (collectively joint applicants) filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking a limited variance regarding certain affiliate transactions that would occur between KCP&L, GMO, and Westar Energy, Inc. if GPE completes its merger with Westar.

After the application for the variance was filed, the joint applicants and the Public Service Commission Staff filed a non-unanimous stipulation and agreement that would purportedly settle all issues relevant to the joint application variance. Objections to the non-unanimous stipulation and agreement must be filed no later than October 26, 2016.

Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than October 26, 2016, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102, or by using the Commission’s Electronic Filing and Information System (EFIS) at www.psc.mo.gov.
