FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Police and Firefighters Rally in Support of Eric Schmitt for State Treasurer
ST. LOUIS – State Senator Eric Schmitt is sprinting to the finish line in the final full of week of his campaign for state treasurer with a rally with St. Louis area firefighters and police officers.
Senator Schmitt has been endorsed by the Missouri Fraternal Order of Police, the Missouri State Council of Fire Fighters, the St. Louis City Police Officers Association and the St. Louis County Police Association in his campaign for Missouri State Treasurer. Today, those police and firefighters said Missouri cities are safer because of Senator Schmitt’s work and support for Missouri first responders.
“Eric Schmitt has supported law enforcement officers across our state and demonstrated his commitment to police and their families time and again,” said Kevin Ahlbrand, president of Missouri FOP. “Eric has earned the support of the Missouri FOP because he stands up for those who protect us. I am personally honored to support him for state treasurer because I know he will continue to be a strong voice for law enforcement officers in Missouri.
“Eric Schmitt has been a leader on policing issues during his time in the Senate,” Ahlbrand continued. “Eric knows the difficult job our officers face every day and has led the way in reforming our justice system to make it more fair for our officers and citizens. Eric has made sure police officers’ first priority is to serve and protect our communities, and not worry about being forced to meet traffic tickets quotas. Our cities are better and safer because of his work.”
