JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Incoming Lt. Gov.-elect Mike Parson is recovering from surgery over the holidays.
The Republican underwent a successful quintuple bypass surgery in Springfield.
A quintuple bypass is an open heart surgery done to treat severely blocked arteries that feed the heart.
Parson was released from hospital after a short stay, and is still expected to attend the inauguration on Monday, January 9th.
He expects to serve in his role as lt. governor immediately with no health complications.
