JEFFERSON CITY, Mo-Today, the Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) announced the following appointments to the Missouri Arts Council: Mark Sappington, of Kansas City; Connie Burkhardt, of Frontenac; Natasia Sexton, of Jefferson City; Chris Pieper, of Columbia; William L. Miller Jr., of St. Louis; John Mollenkamp, of Jefferson City; and Nola Ruth, of Columbia.
DED Director Mike Downing made the appointments as well as appointed Sexton and Miller to terms ending Oct. 13, 2017; Sappington, Burkhardt and Mollenkamp to terms ending Oct. 13, 2020; and Pieper and Ruth to terms that end Oct. 13, 2021.
The Missouri Arts Council is a division of DED. The council provides support to nonprofit organizations through grants that meet its strategic goals:

* Grow Missouri’s economy using the arts
* Strengthen Missouri education through the arts
