Guest: NAM and Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals recognize Sen. Roy Blunt for supporting manufacturing
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals presented Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) the NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence during an event hosted by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals in Hazelwood, Missouri.
“Mallinckrodt applauds the selection of Senator Blunt as recipient of the NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence. His support of pro-manufacturing legislation is highly beneficial to America’s manufacturers, with domestic manufacturing critical to the strength of our nation’s economy,” said Dr. Frank Scholz, Executive Vice President, Operations and President, Specialty Generics for Mallinckrodt and NAM Board Member. “We at Mallinckrodt and the entire Missouri business community are fortunate to have Senator Blunt’s strong support in advocating policies that will allow us to grow our businesses, create jobs, and compete globally.”
“Manufacturers are a cornerstone of our state’s economy, providing good-paying jobs to more than 260,000 Missourians,” said Senator Blunt. “I’ve been proud to lead efforts to revitalize manufacturing in Missouri and across the nation, and will continue working to ensure we have the right policies in place to help manufacturers grow, innovate, and compete in the 21st Century economy.”
“Manufacturers in Missouri and across the country are changing lives for the better—through the jobs we create and the products we make. Manufacturing is about improving the human condition, one innovation at a time,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons. “Senator Blunt is helping to make our success possible by standing with manufacturers when it matters and casting the right votes.”
“Manufacturers employ over 12 million men and women in the U.S., who are making everything from lifesaving medicines to the most cutting edge technology. The strength of manufacturing in America is responsible for the success of America in the world. When manufacturing succeeds, America succeeds, so Senator Blunt’s consistent support for manufacturing means he is supporting a better future for all Americans.”
Key Votes included in the Voting Record are selected by small, medium and large manufacturing executives who serve on the NAM’s Key Vote Advisory Committee. Additional information on the NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence can be found here.
