Northland Area Easterseals invites congressional offices & local elected officials to open house

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Easterseals Midwest has invited congressional offices, community leaders, and other elected officials to learn more about their work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Missouri.

The purpose of the visit is to inform lawmakers and community leaders about the work Easterseals Midwest does to help children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities live as independently as possible in our community. Easterseals Midwest’s programs are funded through state and federal Medicaid programs.

“Our mission is to empower people with disabilities to live happy and purposeful lives. Each program we offer equips families and individuals to do just that. I’m excited to share the impact and importance of our services with national leaders – Easterseals’ services not only support individuals with disabilities, but also the families who love them,” said Wendy Sullivan, Chief Executive Officer of Easterseals Midwest.

The Kansas City, MO event will be held on Monday, September 11th at 1PM at 1508 NW Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64118.

Easterseals Midwest serves individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, and provides support for functional life skills, job training, therapy, communication skills, medical care, and other important needs. These services are critical for adults and children with disabilities to live in the community and maximize their self-sufficiency.

This event marks the fourth open house Easterseals Midwest has hosted across the state.
