Ten representatives and senators won “Legislator of the Year” awards Friday morning from the St. Louis Business Journal. Congratulations, Sens. Tom Dempsey, Jolie Justus, Mike Kehoe, Jamilah Nasheed and Scott Rupp, and Reps. Jay Barnes, Mike Cierpiot, Marsha Haefner, Rocky Miller and Todd Richardson. Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-St. Louis County is HOT
St. Louis is rumored to be on the verge of getting the SEC basketball tournament in the future. After Schmitt’s sports event tax credit passed this session, that could bring some profit in the area that would balance out with the money given by the state.
Cloria Brown is NOT
After three campaigns, two of them being losses, you would imagine a candidate would have a working knowledge of Missouri ethics law. Last week, Brown was fined for ethics violations before her next campaign could get off the ground. Looks like the Republicans may need to go back to the recruiting field in South St. Louis County.
