Press Release: RNC Co-Chair Sharon Day to Headline MoFRW Luncheon at Lincoln Days 2014

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. –– The Missouri Republican Party, Missouri Association of Republicans, and the Missouri Federation of Republican Women (MoFRW) are excited to announce the keynote speaker for the MFRW luncheon at the 2014 Missouri Lincoln Days celebration: RNC Co-Chairman Sharon Day.

“Sharon Day has been at the forefront of women’s involvement and leadership on the national level since being elected as co-chair in 2011,” said Ed Martin, Chairman of the Missouri Republican Party.  “We have put together a lineup of speakers that all conservatives can be proud of. We look forward to taking our conservative message to Springfield during this all important election cycle.”

Sharon Day has served on Broward County’s (Florida) executive committee since 1994 and has served as Florida’s National Committeewoman since 2004. During the election recount in 2000, she played an instrumental part in deploying Republican ballot counters in Broward County. During her service to the Republican Party, Sharon has recruited numerous successful candidates and worked closely with party activists and supporters to spread the Republican message of lower taxes, less spending and more freedom. In addition she has made opening the doors of our party to women and minorities a priority.

“From our founding 1930, it has been the charter of the MoFRW to strengthen and grow opportunities for women in politics through education and training,” said Tane’ Schwartzman, President of the MoFRW.  “Lincoln Days 2014 offers a special opportunity for continued engagement of our activist core, as well as the opportunity to learn from the experiences shared by our special guest Sharon Day.”

At last year’s Lincoln Days celebration, current MOGOP National Committeewoman Catherine Hanaway offered the keynote address to the MoFRW luncheon. “The story I shared last year was one of freedom,” said Catherine Hanaway, MOGOP National Committeewoman. “We did just that, in 2012 Missouri increased Republican women in the US House delegation to nearly 40%. I am excited to return in support of my fellow Republican women in Springfield.”

The MoFRW has 51 clubs across eight Congressional Districts and are the backbone of the grassroots conservative movement in Missouri. Their annual luncheon is held each year in conjunction with Lincoln Days to recognize clubs and individuals for their hard work and achievements.

Lincoln Days 2014 celebration will take place February 21-23 in Springfield, MO.  Special guests include Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, RNC Co-Chairman Sharon Day, and a special announcement for Friday evening coming soon.
