Thoenen first worked for the Department of Revenue in 1981 before moving to Legislative Research where she worked for 14 years. She brings valuable experience working on bills to her current position.

However, she is still learning the handling of bills and making the right contacts to get them on the floor or scheduled in committee. Redmon serves on eight committees and is the Chairman of the Appropriations for Agriculture Committee. She is getting used to working out Redmon’s schedule as well as getting more familiar with agricultural legislature.

Thoenen has been married to her husband Wayne for 13 years. She has two children: 28-year-old Dara Heidebreder and 10-year-old Will. One of her favorite activities is watching her fourth-grade son play sports; basketball season just ended but baseball is coming up.

Thoenen also enjoys the outdoors, specifically camping, hiking and grilling.
