Capital Profile: Elizabeth Zerr

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo- Out of all of the workers in the Secretary of State’s office, Elizabeth Zerr is certainly one of the most traveled.  Zerr is now the Deputy Policy Director for the SOS office. She grew up in St. Charles, Missouri before attending the University of Missouri for a degree in International Studies.

Zerr went on to use that degree to land a job in the Middle East with a sustainability consulting firm.

“It was a company called AIESC; it helped multinational corporations work on being more sustainable.” Zerr

In her time before finding her way into the SOS office, Zerr worked on campaigns in both Colorado and Missouri.

As for how Zerr was chosen for her current position, Zerr told The Missouri Times, “I applied for a position in the Missouri House of Representatives.  Through that process my resume found its way to Jason.

“I represent the office of the Secretary of Statte and the citizens we serve to the legislature, as well as the executive branch.  While in session, I track bills and occasionally testify.  I interact with division directors and the Missourians we serve to see if there is anything else we can do,” Zerr said.

Zerr is grateful for her current position and is glad to work with Secretary of State Kander.

“I am very lucky to be able to represent an office and a person I really believe in.  It’s great to represent some one who has integrity and intelligence…  He taught me how to throw a baseball.”
