Jefferson City Area Chamber Hosts The Missouri Times Ribbon Cutting

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. – The Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for The Missouri Times, a new media outlet focusing exclusively on political reporting in Jefferson City today in the House Press Gallery. The ribbon cutting accompanied the unveiling of The Missouri ribbon cuttingTimes website, themissouritimes.com.

President of The Missouri Times L.L.C., Rod Jetton, spoke briefly at the ceremony, thanking the members of the Chamber of Commerce and the Jefferson City Community at large for their welcoming and support.

“We are very excited and humbled to be welcomed so enthusiastically by everyone in the community. There are many people who have helped and supported us in getting off the ground, most notably my wife, Jami. We are looking forward to working hard to earn your readership and support,” Jetton said to a crowd that filled the press gallery and flowed out into the hallway.

Susan Albert, Director Membership and Special Events with the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce stated, “We are all very excited to welcome The Missouri Times and are very glad to have you as members”.

The Missouri Times, which plans on releasing its first print issue on Monday, January 14, will print weekly and will be updated daily online.

Jetton is joined by SEMO TIMES publisher Scott Faughn.

“I couldn’t be more excited about this endeavor, and work with a top flight team,” Faughn said. “I’m excited to do good reporting on what I think is the most interesting element of the news, which is the state political system.”

Faughn will be reporting alongside one other reporter from Jefferson City, and intends to expand the staff as the publication grows.

The Missouri Times will be available in Jefferson City to casual readers and can be mailed anywhere in the state to subscribers.
