John “Jay” Ashcroft Releases First Ad in 24th District State Senate Race

Ashcroft says we can get our economy going by getting government out of the way of job creators

ST. LOUIS, Mo – John “Jay” Ashcroft has released the first ad of the race for the 24th State Senate District. The ad, titled Jobs, focuses on improving Missouri’s economy by getting government out of the way of job growth and economic recovery. It will air through Election Day in St. Louis.

“Americans built the greatest economic engine that the world has ever seen,” Ashcroft narrates in the ad. “So what happened? Our leaders lost their faith in the people and bought into the lie that greatness comes from government.  What makes us great isn’t found in the backrooms of D.C. or Jeff City. It’s right here: our families, our communities, and our small businesses. We already have everything we need to grow our economy. We just need government to get out of our way.”

The ad can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3gDcrjrA6k.

The ad also comes just days after Ashcroft reported fundraising totals for the 2nd Quarter, where he led each of his opponents.

“We are excited about the momentum that is growing for our campaign every day,” Ashcroft said. “As I talk to voters throughout the district, it’s clear that they believe we can and must do better. We need better jobs, better schools, and better opportunities.”

Ashcroft and his wife, Katie, are both attorneys. They live in St. Louis with their three children. Ashcroft is the son of Janet and former United States Attorney General John Ashcroft.
