Grow Missouri Will Report $2.5 Million Contribution
Funds Will Support Speaker-Elect John Diehl’s “100 Great Ideas” Tour
Sept. 12, 2014 (ST. LOUIS) Grow Missouri – a broad based coalition formed to advocate policies that will make Missouri a more competitive, more attractive place to live and work – is announcing it will be reporting a new contribution of $2.5 million. The money will be used in large part to help support Missouri House Speaker-elect, John Diehl’s “100 Great Ideas Tour,” as well as other efforts that promote pro-growth, smaller government policy initiatives.
Speaker-elect Diehl created the “100 Great Ideas” tour to collect taxpayer opinions at town hall-style “idea raisers,” with the intent of bringing the best of those ideas back to the Capitol in January and incorporating them into legislation.
“We fully support this effort because it is born of the recognition that Missouri can do better, that there needs to be consensus and a motivation to make real positive change for everyday Missourians,” said Aaron Willard, treasurer, Grow Missouri. “Accordingly, we are prepared to provide funding for the effort that is commensurate with its importance and I have already started coordinating with other organizations in an effort to build a coalition and develop a plan to support this initiative.”
Grow Missouri’s intent is to create an accessible conduit for Missourians to share their ideas on how to improve the state and connect with Missouri families who want to keep their American Dream; small business owners who shoulder the responsibility of having to make payrolls that so many families count on; farmers, who are grappling with ways to stay current and compete with other farmers in some neighboring states that have far more attractive tax climates; and a host of other Missourians, all of whom want to see the Show Me State thrive and grow and compete on a level playing field with other states.
