Jeff Roe chosen to speak at CPAC

By Scott Faughn

Native Missouri political consultant Jeff Roe, founder of Axiom Strategies, has been asked to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference on a distinguished panel ominously entitled, “Should We Shoot all the Consultants Now?”

Roe will speak alongside Morton Blackwell, president of the  The Leadership Institute and a world renowned pollster

The panel will be moderated by The Honorable Matt Schlapp, principal with Cove Strategies.

CPAC is hosted by the American Conservative Union and has long been the largest and most prestigious gathering of conservatives in the United States. “It is a great honor to be asked to speak at CPAC, but to be on a panel with Morton Blackwell and Pat Caddell is an honor,” said Roe.

Invitations to CPAC are extremely exclusive and only offered to top conservative leaders.  “CPAC speaker and panel invitations are determined by our sponsoring organizations and ACU Board members via our yearlong CPAC Planning Committee. Jeff is one of the most successful political consultants in the country. He’s also a compelling and provocative political commentator, so he’s a natural fit for what will be one of CPAC 2013’s premier political panels,” said Gregg Keller, executive director of the American Conservative Union.

Roe began his career working for Missouri House candidates before founding Axiom Strategies  in 2005. He has campaign experience in 42 of the 50 states. He has also earned a tough reputation. Roll Call called Jeff’s methods “the stuff” of political legend.

In 2008 he made his early primary states debut on the presidential level, coordinating phone contact and get out the vote efforts for Governor Mike Huckabee. In 2012 he worked for Texas Governor Rick Perry. Roe’s firm focuses on targeted congressional and Senate campaigns across the country where he has amassed an 81 percent victory rate in congressional races. Axiom’s direct mail program has won more awards than any other Republican mail firm for the second consecutive cycle. To date, Roe and his firm have represented 30 members of the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate.

Roe’s firm is known for not taking all candidates and often aligning with more conservative candidates. “We have been fortunate for the past two cycles to turn more down than we take on, and certainly one of the things we evaluate is how our firm aligns with their view of government, he said.

CPAC has been a coming out event for many consultants and candidates. When asked if he viewed this exclusive invitation as such he demurred, “I look at it as maybe one of those handful of moments that validate all the hard work. When you start out walking doors for Sam Graves or driving around John Ashcroft you don’t imagine an opportunity like this, but it is rewarding,” he said.

Roe’s panel will be 3:00 p.m., March 14 and will be carried on CSPAN.
