JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Secretary of State Jason Kander today announced he has sent teams from his office to Ferguson to assist with the cleanup. Missouri State Archives staff will be on hand to help impacted businesses salvage any documents they can, and business services staff will assist small business owners in obtaining the documents they need to navigate their insurance process.

Since the announcement of the Grand Jury’s lack of indictment regarding the death of Michael Brown at the hands of Ferguson police, over 80 individuals have been arrested and several buildings were burnt. Leading up to the announcement, several businesses between Clayton and Ferguson were seen boarding up their windows and doors.

Kander will also delay all paperwork and fee deadlines for all businesses in Ferguson for the next year, until November 30, 2015.
