PSC STAFF COMPLAINT AGAINST

MOORE BEND WATER UTILITY, LLC DISMISSED

JEFFERSON CITY—The Staff of the Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC Staff) has filed and the Commission has accepted the PSC Staff’s request to dismiss a complaint it had filed against Moore Bend Water Utility, LLC (Moore Bend).

In a complaint filed on July 10, 2014, the PSC Staff alleged Moore Bend had failed to provide safe and adequate service to its customers in Taney County because it was under a boil order due to bacterial contamination of its water source and had not implemented certain corrective measures specified by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

On November 17, 2014, the PSC Staff filed a motion to dismiss the complaint.  In that motion, the PSC Staff stated it had inspected the facilities at Moore Bend and verified that all necessary improvements had been completed and that correct procedures are taking place to allow for proper detention time to thoroughly disinfect the water as required by DNR.  Staff also advised the Commission that DNR had assured the PSC Staff that Moore Bend is now compliant and the boil order had been lifted.  In its motion, the PSC Staff stated it believed the case had been resolved and should be dismissed.

Moore Bend Water Utility, LLC provides water service to approximately 90 customers in the Moore Bend Subdivision near the villages of Cedarcreek and Kissee Mills in Taney County, Missouri.
