JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Kit Crancer, statewide director for StudentsFirst, will be leaving the organization and the state to become the Director State Legislative Policy with the Quality Institute of the Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI).

“I’ve been involved in various political roles for 10 years now,” Crancer said. “It’s going to be a transition, but I’ve always been interested in healthcare. I’ve always been interested in ways that we can advance patient-centered care. I see CDI as a leader in that matrix. It’s a fantastic opportunity.”

Crancer started in the Capitol on the House side with Rep. Jim Avery, but then moved to the Senate. where he worked for a year as chief of staff to Sen. Jim Lembke (R-St. Louis). Then, he moved over to work in the same capacity for Sen. Jane Cunningham (R-St. Louis). Before going to StudentsFirst, he worked as legislative director to Senate Pro Tempore Tom Dempsey (R-St. Charles).

“I am happy with the opportunity to have worked with StudentsFirst and to have been a part of the Missouri Senate family for as long as I was,” Crancer said. “I’m happy to be able to keep and maintain those friendships no matter where I live and I’ll be happy when I come back to Missouri and find ways that we can advance patient-centered care.”

Crancer’s new position will provide experience in state capitols across the country.

He will be moving to Minnesota, where he has family.
