PSC APPROVES AGREEMENT REACHED IN

CENTRAL RIVERS WASTEWATER UTILITY RATE CASE

JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an agreement which authorizes Central Rivers Wastewater Utility, Inc. (Central Rivers) to increase annual sewer operating revenues by approximately $37,000.

Central Rivers filed a sewer rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission on March 11, 2014, seeking to increase annual sewer operating revenues by approximately $91,789.

The agreement approved by the Commission was submitted by the Staff of the Missouri Public Service Commission, Central Rivers and the Office of the Public Counsel.  The Office of the Public Counsel is a separate state agency which represents the general public in cases before the Commission.

A residential customer of Central Rivers currently pays $32.00 a month for sewer service.  Under the agreement, residential customers will pay $44.81 a month for sewer service.

Under the agreement, Central Rivers will move forward with voluntarily refunding all customer deposits to affected customers per Commission rules, including 6% simple interest, over a two-year period.  Central Rivers is to provide reports to the PSC Staff and the Office of the Public Counsel every six months identifying the progress of those refunds.

Central Rivers provides sewer service to approximately 241 customers in seven service areas in Clinton, Clay and Ray counties.  Those service areas are: Berkshire Glen, Fox Run, Private Gardens and Bar-B Acres/Park Estates in Kearney, Missouri; Wilmar in Liberty, Missouri; Country Hills Estates in Cameron, Missouri; and Countryside Meadows in Richmond, Missouri.
