Glendale, Mo. – State Senator Eric Schmitt raised nearly $1 million in 2014 finishing the year with $1,696,302.89 on hand for his campaign for State Treasurer as the 2016 election cycle begins. Schmitt raised over $100,000 in the final three months of the year boosting his total raised to $942,245.66 in 2014.

“What I’m hearing from Missourians from all corners of the state is that they want a State Treasurer who listens and finds creative solutions to difficult problems,” said Senator Schmitt.  “The support we have received in these early months of the campaign has been overwhelming and will provide the resources necessary to have a conversation with Missourians about how the Treasurer’s office can be more responsive to them and a greater advocate for their tax dollars.”

Schmitt announced his campaign for State Treasurer mid-way through 2014 and continues to build support and raise resources at a record pace.

As State Senator, Schmitt has been credited for his leadership as a next-generation conservative, bringing new energy and bold ideas and seeking a new era of governance in which initiatives to create private sector jobs and restore fiscal responsibility will replace the big government model that has prevented growth and prosperity for Missourians.
