FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

2015 State of the State Statement from MSTA

(Columbia, MO) – “We look forward to working with Gov. Jay Nixon, Senate President Pro Tem Tom Dempsey and House Speaker John Diehl on improving education policy. Just over two months ago, our state’s voters reaffirmed their commitment to our state’s public school system and to local control of education by overwhelmingly defeating Amendment 3,” said Mike Wood, director of government relations for MSTA.

“We hope that the General Assembly and Governor Nixon will heed the will of the voters and work with us on policies that will support teachers and promote local control and community involvement in our public schools. Working together we can ensure a quality education for every child in Missouri.”
