— Gov. Jay Nixon continued his visit to Asia on Wednesday, where he visited a Korean War memorial in Seoul with Missouri National Guard members.
“It was a moving experience today to lay the wreath at the section of the Korean War Memorial that honors the Missourians who died defending freedom,” Nixon said in a statement. “We’re here in the Republic of Korea to promote Missouri businesses and products, but this strong and prosperous market for Missouri goods would not exist but for the brave soldiers who defended it six decades ago. It’s a privilege to have this opportunity to recognize the thousands of Missourians, including my father, who left home to fight here for freedom – and to honor the hundreds who never returned.”
On his trip, Nixon signed a $700 million trade deal with Taiwan. On Thursday morning, Nixon is expected to update reporters on the status of his visit.
