LAMAR, Mo. – State Sen. Ed Emery lost vision in his right eye over the weekend. According to his chief of staff Josh Foster, doctors are unsure of the cause of Emery’s loss of eyesight, but they conducted tests Saturday and continued testing on Monday to determine the cause.
In Emery’s first term in 2013, he also suffered from some medical complications between the veto session and that year’s special session due to an infection. His doctors are trying to see if this is related in anyway.
The Ed Emery for State Senate Facebook page sent out a prayer request Saturday, stating “Please intercede for healing and answers for our dear friend and brother in Christ, and for Rebecca who also needs the strength of God. From Rebecca: ‘Please send out some information for us. Ed has lost sight in his right eye. Doctors are concerned about why this has happened. We are running tests today and Monday. We are trusting the Lord.’”
