Hanaway to attend her second rally outside Columbia Planned Parenthood

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Republican gubernatorial candidate Catherine Hanaway will attend another protest Saturday organized by Mid-Missourians for Life outside the Columbia Planned Parenthood affiliate.

Hanaway also attended a similar rally a few weeks ago at the same location, and she is also expected to speak at this event as well. Rep. Mike Moon, R-Ash Grove, is also a featured speaker.

The protest comes as yet another demonstration led by anti-abortion advocates across the country after claims by the Center for Medical Progress alleged last month that Planned Parenthood was selling fetal tissue for profit.

Kathy Forck, the local organizer for the 40 Days for Life campaign, said the way to respond to these allegations was to make them local issues.

“We cannot only look to Washington, DC and our state government to solve this problem,” she said in a statement. “Our goal is to raise awareness of the heartless and even illegal activities of Planned Parenthood, which is located in large and small communities all across America.”
