JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Three charities teamed up and executed a masquerade ball ten years in the making on Saturday.
Hundreds showed their support for the Missouri Capitol Commission, Missouri Association for Community Action, and the Missouri Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence as masqueraders donned their formal wear and masks, while dancing and bidding on auction items. Items up for bid were donated from various organizations and agencies, ranging from the Thomas Hart Benton Trust to Restorative Justice at the Missouri Department of Corrections.
Funds raised will assist the Missouri State Capitol Commission in preserving the Capitol’s historic art, the Missouri Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence in uniting Missourians to end rape and abuse; and the Missouri Association for Community Action in helping Missourians reach self-sufficiency and economic opportunities.
The event was honorarily hosted by U.S. Sens. Roy Blunt and Claire McCaskill, as well as state legislative leaders.
#Caring4Missouri was the social media hashtag of the evening.
