Representative Mike Moon Files Bill to Protect Law Enforcement Officers

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Law enforcement officers regularly make personal sacrifices in their work to serve and protect citizens across Missouri.  At times, during the performance of their duties, arrests are made resulting in imprisonment of the individual convicted of violating the law.  All too often, following the individual’s release from prison, revenge to be meted out against the arresting officer is planned.

Today, it is far too easy to determine the residence of law enforcement officers (both active and retired) and their families.

House Bill 2051, if passed, will provide law enforcement officers, parole officers, and judges (including retirees) and their families the ability to list “restricted license information” on their Missouri drivers license.  This is a small, but logical measure which will offer an additional layer of protection to those whom we have entrusted a great responsibility.
