JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster released a gubernatorial campaign video Monday, calling for an end of the social issue debate and asking the legislature to “get serious.”
I haven’t seen a time in the past 15 years when the business community is as angry with the legislature as they are right now. The reason they’re angry is because this state capitol is no longer the place where government is managed. It’s become the place where politics is managed. The legislature spent another session attacking Planned Parenthood and promoting discrimination, but they failed for another year to pass an economic development bill that would create real opportunity for Missourians. It’s time we start fighting each other over social issues and get back to the business of promoting business. As Governor, that’s my goal.”
It’s time the #moleg got serious. As #mogov, I’ll do what’s necessary to make MO a top-10 business-friendly state.https://t.co/FVmgzaEPmu

A couple regional chamber of commerces and the statewide Missouri Chamber of Commerce came out in opposition of SJR 39, a resolution which hoped to ask Missourians whether they believe there should be “religious freedom” protections relating to same-sex marriage. This past year’s budget also included funding removed for Planned Parenthood and reallocated towards other women’s health and pregnancy help agencies.
