Release: Missouri Right to Life Endorses Eric Schmitt for Treasurer

ST. LOUIS – Missouri Right to Life endorsed State Sen. Eric Schmitt’s campaign for state treasurer praising his work to defend life and support pro-life efforts in Missouri.

“Life is a precious gift and deserves to be treated with respect.  I am proud of my record supporting the dignity and sanctity of human life, and am grateful to have the support of Missouri Right to Life as I work to earn the trust and support of Missourians in my campaign for state treasurer,” Schmitt said.

Schmitt is a leader in promoting the sanctity of life in Missouri.  He served on the Senate Interim Committee on the Sanctity of Life, which was created to investigate the practices of Planned Parenthood in Missouri following the release last summer of outrageous videos showcasing the organization’s lack of respect for innocent human life, including the sale of human body parts for profit.

Schmitt is dedicated to protecting human life, especially the most vulnerable.  He has been a leader championing Missourians living with disabilities.  In 2015, he was successful in advancing the MO ABLE Act through the state legislature and ultimately to the governor’s desk where it was signed into law.  The MO ABLE program operates in the same manner as the state’s 529 college savings program, providing families with the opportunity to prepare for the future by establishing savings plans for Missourians living with disabilities.
