TWMP: Teresa Hensley and the Democratic primary for treasurer

On a special double feature episode of This Week in Missouri Politics, host Scott Faughn sits down with former Cass County prosecutor Teresa Hensley to talk about her bid to become the state’s next attorney general. Hensley talks about her experience as a prosecutor and attorney and how she wants to translate that experience into the office. She also talks about her union endorsements, the differences between her and her opponent Jake Zimmerman, and the renewed national focus on tensions between law enforcement and the African-American community. They also discuss campaign contribution limits and the Sunshine law.

After the break, Faughn hosts a debate/discussion between the two Democratic contenders for state treasurer, former diplomat Pat Contreras and former state Rep. Judy Baker. They both discuss why they are running for office, how they want to solve the problem of banking deserts in urban and rural areas, and even the Republican contender Sen. Eric Schmitt’s “Defund Iran” plan. At the end, they discuss what sets them apart from their opponent.

TWMP will air at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Louis area on ABC 30 KDNL and in mid-Missouri on KRCG at 6:00 a.m. The show is available online after noon at twmp.tv.
