Public Policy Polling to reveal new poll at GPS Impact event

ST. LOUIS – One of the most well-regarded polling companies in the country will be hosting an event with GPS Impact Friday morning in St. Louis to unveil the results of a new political poll of likely Missouri voters.

Public Policy Polling (PPP) will release new findings on Missouri’s preference for president in August as well some of Missouri’s statewide elections, as well as the races for U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt’s seat and the Republican gubernatorial primary. The polling company will announce the findings with GPS Impact, the Midwestern-based media and communications firm with a Democratic tilt, at a reception in St. Louis hosted by the two groups.

The reception will take place during Netroots Nation, a national progressive convention that focuses on technology to promote liberal policies. Mindy Mazur, a principal with GPS Impact, said the event would serve as a useful networking opportunity

PPP is considered one of the more accurate polling companies in the nation, though it is widely believed to have a slight liberal lean. The last polls the agency released were all the way back in Aug. 2012 when former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was in second-place in the Republican primary.

The “Pastries, Polling, and Politics” reception will be at the Over/Under Bar on Washington Ave., starting at 9 a.m. Friday. Anyone interested in attending can RSVP here.
