Weekly Poll: Koster up 6, SD19 close

The Missouri Times conducted a poll of registered voters Sunday, September 4 through Tuesday, September 6 and asked Missourians questions on three races of importance: the race of Missouri’s governorship, State Senate District (SD) 1, and State Senate District 19. 

We polled 589 people statewide. Also polled 201 in SD1, and 234 in SD19. The poll has a +/- of 4% using Gravis polling. 

The poll was completed before the NRA endorsement of Attorney General Koster was made public. 

Missouri Governor 

  • Chris Koster: 47%
  • Eric Greitens: 41%
  • Cisse Spragins: 2%
  • Lester Turilli: 1%
  • Undecided: 9%

State Senate District 1

  • Scott Sifton: 43%
  • Randy Jotte: 36%
  • Undecided: 21%

State Senate District 19 

  • Stephen Webber: 45%
  • Caleb Rowden: 41%
  • Undecided: 14%

The statewide breakdown by media market was:

  • Columbia:9%
  • Joplin:6%
  • Kansas City:20%
  • Kirksville:1%
  • Cape Girardeau:7%
  • Hannibal:1%
  • Springfield:18%
  • St. Joseph:2%
  • St. Louis: 36%

The partisan breakdown was:

  • Republican: 38%
  • Democrat: 32%
  • Independent:30%

The gender breakdown was:

  • Male: 52%
  • Female: 48%
