PSC approves renewable energy standard compliance reports

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Public Service Commission met Wednesday morning before veto session to resolve some business in a relatively short 40-minute meeting.

The commission voted unanimously to approve the 13 tariffs and new orders filed for review. Chairman Daniel Hall was too sick to even call into Wednesday’s meeting, so the vote counts on each was only 4-0.

Included among those tariffs and new orders were a set of four orders about various electric companies’ renewable energy standard compliance reports. The statutorily-mandated annual compliance reports detail the use and plans of use for renewable resources over the course of the next three years. The reports are mandated by 2008’s Proposition C, which required more renewable energy use.

Although Renew Missouri found three deficiencies within the four plans, PSC staff and Commissioner Stephen Stoll found no deficiencies. The commission approved the reports from Ameren, Kansas City Power & Light, KCP&L Greater Missouri, and Empire District Electric.
