On Sunday’s episode of “This Week in Missouri Politics,” Sen. Jamilah Nasheed, D-St. Louis, joins host Scott Faughn to discuss her opposition to the gun bill and the photo voter ID bill, and the controversy she generated when she sat during the Pledge of Allegiance during veto session as an act of protest.
“I sat down to stand in solidarity with those throughout the country who are seeing injustice occur each and every, single day,” Nasheed said. “We have a stain in our fabric that needs to be cleaned.”
She also talks about the Senate majority’s use of the previous question, her support for Attorney General Chris Koster in the governor’s race, and her hopes for Hillary Clinton in the presidential race.
For this week’s opinion maker panel, Faughn welcomes publisher Ray Hartman of St. Louis Magazine, St. Louis Treasurer Tishaura Jones, attorney David Wassinger, and Rep. Elaine Gannon, R-DeSoto, to discuss The Missouri Times’ poll results which show Koster with a 10-point lead over Eric Greitens. They also discuss the presidential election, how Hillary Clinton matches up with Donald Trump, and Right-to-Work.
“I am a business owner who does not support [right-to-work],” Hartman said.
