This Week in Missouri Politics to debut in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – This Week in Missouri Politics is expanding to Kansas City starting Sunday, October 16th on 38 the Spot at 10:00 a.m. – right in middle of the Sunday news show lineup.

“It has been our goal from day one to make This Week in Missouri Politics a truly statewide show that brings our viewers an in-depth look at all the angles of state politics,” said the show’s host Scott Faughn. “There was no way to do that without being in the all-important Kansas City television market.”

This will be the third market for the show that originated in St. Louis on ABC 30, and will now stretch the width of the state.

“Not only will we broadcasting in Kansas City, but we will begin taping some of our episodes in Kansas City, where we can more easily feature Kansas City opinion makers,” said Faughn.

The first episode scheduled to be taped in Kansas City will air October 30th and will feature an interview with House Majority Floor Leader Mike Cierpiot, as well as an opinion maker panel with Kansas City area representatives Jon Carpenter and Glen Kolkmeyer.

“We are thrilled to finally reach this milestone in the growth of our show, and we’re thrilled to be up and running on the 16th. We also want to invite all of our viewers and Missouri Times readers to join us Monday at Boulevard Brewing from 5-7 for our official launch party,” said Faughn.

38 the Spot is affiliated with the NBC affiliate in Kansas City KSHB, and features broadcasts of Sporting Kansas City games, as well as 41 Action News broadcasts.

Dish Network subscribers can find 38 the Spot at channels 38 and 8437. DirecTV customers can watch the show on channel 38. Viewers can watch the show via their digital antenna at channel 38, and is available on channel 8 on cable.
