JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – After serving as the deputy chief of staff for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, Channing Ansley Grate has landed her next job. The public relations pro will be joining GPS Impact as their “Senior Communications Strategist.”
Grate boasts more than a decade of experience in the world of politics, having spent time serving under Gov. Jay Nixon. In 2012, she directed communications and research for Nixon’s re-election campaign. After that, she joined his office, where she handled all media relations and strategic communications as his communications director.
As a member of the governor’s senior leadership team, Grate advised decision makers on policy and strategy, while using social media to advance the administration’s agenda and amplify its achievements.
She left Nixon’s office in 2016, taking the position of deputy chief of staff on the Hillary for America campaign.
Grate graduated from Columbia University in New York with a bachelor’s degree in political science. She also served as policy director for a U.S. Senate campaign and research director for a congressional campaign earlier in her career and worked at EMILY’s List and the National Journal Group in Washington, D.C.
The Rhode Island native joins the growing team at GPS Impact, who says her wealth strategic communications expertise will help to expand the firm’s capacity to deliver a full range of tools and skills to their clientele.
GPS Impact is a public affairs and multimedia advertising agency based out of Des Moines, Iowa, with locations in Kansas City, Jefferson City, St. Louis and Philadelphia.

Grate is scheduled to begin her work at GPS Impact during the week of January 9th.
