Governor’s tax commission to host first town hall this week

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Governor Eric Greitens’ tax commission continues moving forward with their work, meeting again following the end of the legislative session.

As legislators headed home following a lengthy week in the Missouri General Assembly, it only stood to reason that the majority of the committee would attend Monday’s meeting by phone. In fact, the only members to appear in person were Chairman Joel Walters and Cole County’s representative, Jay Barnes.

The purpose of these events is to create a forum in which the committee may collect public opinions on issues surrounding Missouri’s taxes. The first of these town halls is scheduled to take place this Wednesday, March 17, at Northwest Missouri State University, located in Maryville.
