Haymer announces campaign to challenge Peters

ST. LOUIS – Community activist and political consultant, Damon Haymer, announced today in an email to supporters his intent to run for the 76th District seat in the Missouri House of Representatives.

Haymer, an Army Veteran and current member of the NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri Affiliate Board of Directors, stated he will run as a Democrat – which will pit him against the incumbent Josh Peters in the primary.

Haymer cited a desire for positive change, fresh ideas and positive solutions among the reason he has chosen to begin a campaign for an elected office.

Having been involved as a community activist since 2010, I have long worked for positive change in the 76th District. My family and I now feel that the time has come for me to seek elected office. I want to bring fresh ideas and positive solutions to the Missouri State House by running for State Representative of the 76th District.
For this campaign to be successful, it will require a strong and organized grassroots organization. I have been meeting with local political, business and civic leaders to understand the concerns of not only the citizens but the community as a whole. I have also been in extensive conversations with local educators to find how we can better prepare our students for the future.

It is imperative that we reduce crime and increase public safety. We must support education and strengthen our public schools. We must improve the quality of life and well-being of citizens in our community and all of Missouri, and improve services for veterans of the armed forces.
I’m turning to the people who know me best, and inviting them to get involved in my campaign and help make the difference. Your early contribution, made payable to the “Committee to Elect Damon D Haymer” will give our race a tremendous boost. Your gift of will help me raise the initial funds needed to launch this campaign. Please donate HERE today. The time is now!
