Curtman launches exploratory campaign to 700

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. – State Rep. Paul Curtman launched his exploratory committee Saturday to a packed room of supporters.

Curtman was introduced by State Sen. Bill Eigel and former State. Sen. Jim Lembke.

“I understand already how important it is to have the right people in the right place,” Eigel said, going on to get boos from the crowd from mentioning the Affordable Care Act, attributing ACA as the reason for a new level of activism from constitutional conservatives.

“There is a difference between a Democracy and a Constitutional Republic.”

Lembke took the mic after Eigel, continuing the theme of constitutional conservatism and critiquing large government.

“I can tell you there are few and far between who understand the proper role and function of government,” Lembke said. Curtman wrote a book about the role of government titled, “Don’t Tread on Me.”

“We need Paul Curtman in Washington, D.C.,” Lembke said, garnering loud applause from a crowd the campaign estimates to be over 700.

Curtman took the stage with his wife, Ruth, and their little boy, Oliver. Ruth is pregnant with the couple’s second.

“At the end of the day, this is not about me,” Curtman said. “This is about sending Claire McCaskill home as a private citizen.”

Curtman shared his motivation for his exploratory committee, which resounded with the audience: Right is right.
